When the Greek king Midas was granted a wish, he got greedy and asked for everything he touched to turn to gold. This golden touch seemed like a blessing till the king got hungry and his food turned to gold. Distressed, when he hugged his daughter, she too turned to gold. The thoughtless and amoral pursuit of wealth thus resulted in Midas’s undoing.
When we are young, we grow up on such stories, and values of honesty, empathy, temperance and integrity. But as adults, in a world that values financial success above everything else, staying true to these values is not always easy - growing our business, climbing the corporate ladder or maximizing our investment returns can often come in the way.
But our values are a central part of who we are and who we want to be. They determine our priorities in life and point us in the right direction in our personal, professional and financial lives. So, if you’re one for whom how they invest their money is as important as how much they invest, you can be more intentional with your investments. Ethical investing is an investment strategy in which investors invest in businesses that align with their religious or social values, and generate financial returns.
..Some businesses are involved in activities which are not in good in terms of Social values and may be harmful for the society. As an individual investor it can be difficult to identify businesses that conduct their operations in a moral, honest and responsible manner and at the same time remain profitable. That's where Ethical mutual fund come in.
We are excited to announce the launch of our New Fund Offering - Quantum Ethical Fund - an open-ended Equity Fund that invests in companies meeting a set of principles including Shariah, Jainism and other ethical principles with the objective of achieving long-term capital appreciation.
Businesses with good governance practices and high integrity are less likely to face regulatory challenges, stakeholder issues and are more likely to be sustainable. Finally, the shortlisted businesses will undergo checks to determine financial soundness to ensure investors get a portfolio that aligns to their values.
Mahatma Gandhi famously said, "Our progress towards the goal will be in exact proportion to the purity of our means.”
The Quantum Ethical Fund can enable investors to align their investments to their personal and religious beliefs and value systems. By encouraging ethical business practices, investments in this fund can also promote positive social and ethical values. With the Quantum Ethical Fund, investors can have a clear conscience as they reap the long-term benefits of equity investing.
So, if means are as important to you as ends, invest in the Quantum Ethical Fund and turn your values into investment. The NFO opens for subscription on 2nd December, 2024.
